At the NCSC, competitors make sales calls to fictional businesses with Corporate Sponsors playing the students’ prospects; their goals range from getting a second appointment to making the sale. However, the focus is on the sales skills exhibited rather than the outcome of the call. Competitors sell a product in the 20-minute role-plays individually and are awarded as individuals, with the exception of team awards which are based on the combined cumulative scores of the two teammates.

The PSE Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon® is a year-long sales competition held at the five PSE fall regional conferences and the annual PSE NEF National Sales and Marketing Convention.
The Western States Collegiate Sales Competition is designed to showcase students’ selling skills to corporate recruiters. Two role plays (Salesforce.com and ADP) are judged by a panel of recruiters. Each role play is 12 minutes. The competition also includes a corporate mixer and speed interviewing event. Platinum partners of this year’s competition are ADP, Intuit, Salesforce.com, and TEKsystems. There are also 20+ gold and silver partners who will attend the event.
